Applying to playing 2026

Page updated 5 March, 2026

Applicants are invited to meet with teachers either at an instrument selection event or for a personal audition and interview.

Instrument selection event

Applicants who have not yet played any instrument will participate in the instrument selection process. Those who wish to switch from their current instrument to another will also participate in the instrument selection process.

The instrument selection event will begin with a short joint information session. After this, applicants will visit classrooms with their guardians, where teachers will let them try out the instruments. The entire session lasts about an hour, during which time you will have time to try out 4–6 instruments. When leaving the session, applicants will indicate their instrument preferences at the information desk in the lobby.

No advance preparation is necessary for the instrument selection.

Audition

Applicants who already play an instrument and wish to apply only for that instrument will be invited to an audition and interview. The audition consists of a short piece of your choice. Please bring your own instrument. PMO has a piano and drums available for use.
